Description: 7.4 miles, 2 hour paddle flat water, first hour maybe some Class 1 rapids if water then slow moving for last hour but deeper water. Put-in is at base of dam then take-out at landing under Hwy 1 bridge. Good parking at put-in and take-out.

We are going for a river trip, probably a challenging one this weekend. The water is low (about 2 feet) according to the gage but it is pouring down rain as I write this (Monday afternoon in Columbia). Maybe the water level will rise?

Next meeting for Palmetto Paddlers on Tuesday July 29 shall not be at the Luther Lee Building as a group club paddle is scheduled. Instead everyone will meet at 6:30 (new time) at the Riverbanks Zoo (off Graystone Blvd) parking lot far right side. The group will be split for 2 trips.

We are going to try a something a little different for this trip, a moon light paddle on Lake Murray. We will put in around 7:00 p.m. and paddle to the Big Creek/Little Saluda River area and then turn around for what should be a spectacular view of the moon rising over Lake Murray.
