08 / 16 (trip) Lake Murray / Big Creek Start: 7:00 pm End: 10:00 pm Description: We are going to try a something a little different for this trip, a moon light paddle on Lake Murray. We will put in around 7:00 p.m. and paddle to the Big Creek/Little Saluda River area and then turn around for what should be a spectacular view of the moon rising over Lake Murray. more info

He will be speaking about the Land Trust mission and their main focus, the Cowasee Basin Project. The Cowasee Basin is the area covered by the Congaree, Wateree and Santee rivers. more info

About 3 feet as of today; and with the rain expected this week, it should get even better. So, we (Ed Wrightson and Kate Whitaker) are changing our destination from Congaree Creek to Cedar Creek (a Congaree Creek trip will be run on Sunday), Congaree National Park, Bannister's Bridge at 10 AM. more info

We will paddle from the landing on Highway 321 in West Columbia/Cayce to the take out at Old State Road in Congaree Heritage Preserve. The put-in is several blocks east of I-26. The trip length is about 5 miles and should take us 3 or 4 hours to complete. more info

About 2.5 or 3 hours with shuttle. This is a mild whitewater trip for paddlers who may desire to try some whitewater. All skill levels and boats, except for fiberglass and sea kayaks. Bring helmet and PFD. We may have one or two spare helmets but check with me. more info

09 / 13 (trip) Augusta Canal Start: 10:00 am End: 5:00 pm Description: Meet at 10 am at I-20 Welcome Center first exit into GA. 7mi flatwater, good for all paddle skills and all boats including fiberglass. Very scenic and ends in downtown Augusta. Very sunny so wear hats and sunscreen. This is very popular trip which we do 1 or 2 times a year. Bring water, lunch, and rain gear just in case. more info
