Update: The Lumber River Overnight Trip plan has been revised to change the put-in location to be Boardman, N.C., and the take-out location will be Fair Bluff, N.C. We will be camping at the Lumber River State Park, which is about half way down this river section. These changes are required, due to flood conditions on the lower river section. We still plan to meet in Fair Bluff at the original scheduled time of 11:00am on Saturday morning, and we will still paddle around 20 total river miles. Any questions can be forwarded to Trip Coordinator Bruce Monson.

The next Palmetto Paddlers meeting is Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in the Luther Lee building at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
Lee Olson will give a presentation on cameras, tips on taking pictures and most importantly on the correct way to send pictures by email. Dennis Catoe, Bruce Monson and Mike Hollis will have trip reports for the Augusta Canal, Lumber River Overnight and Sparkleberry Swamp Trips. Ed Wrightson and Mike will have trip information on the upcoming trips on Congaree Creek and Cedar Creek. And to top everything off Club President Rock Garrick will provide a run down on the Beech/River Sweep and the River Summit. The River Summit is being held by Columbia Mayor Bob Coble to try and come up with a solution to the ongoing pollution problems in our three local rivers.
After the meeting we'll head out for a meal and fellowship at one of the many fine Vista establishments.
