The trip will be on the South Fork Edisto River from Claude's Landing to Bobcat Landing and is appropriate for all types of kayaks and canoes. The trip will be approximately 10 miles long and should take 4 to 6 hours. The water level has been low so plan on slow paddling and there may be some portages, strainers and mud to deal with. However, there is very little development along the South Fork Edisto and we should have the river to ourselves. Bring lunch, snacks, water, bug spray, sunscreen, and walkie-talkies if you have them. For those interested in BBQ there is a restaurant about a mile from the takeout.

Directions: Plan on meeting at the McDonalds on Highway 321 & I-26 in Cayce at 8:00 a.m. From there we will travel on Highway 321 to Claude's landing. Claude's Landing is on road S 5-365, it will be the first paved road on the left after turning left on Char-Augusta road (S 5-49) from Highway 321. If you plan to meet us at the put in be there no later than 9:30 a.m. A note of caution, there are 7 or 8 small towns and communities on Highway 321 and many speed limit changes along the way.
