Cedar Creek
The trip will be on the Cedar Creek as there is sufficient water.
The plan is to paddle on Cedar Creek from Bannister Bridge to the take out on South Cedar Creek Road. The Bannister Bridge put in is on Old Bluff Road several miles before the entrance to the Congaree National Park. However, I may have to change locations due to low water levels.
Old Info: As of Friday the 3rd., the water level in Cedar Creek is 2.80 feet and it hasn't been above 3.20 feet for the last week. The extended forecast isn't calling for any rain through Tuesday, October 7th. Our chance of having enough water to paddle on Cedar Creek seems remote at this point. Sparkleberry Swamp will be my alternative place to paddle. It also is suffering from low water also but we should be able to find a spot. Perhaps by paddling out of Packs Landing over to the swamp rather than launching from Sparkleberry Landing. If you are interested in paddling somewhere you will need to email me. I'll wait until Thursday before announcing which location and it will solely depend on the water levels. Please include a phone number in your email, I want to make sure that I can contact everyone interested in paddling.
