Palmetto Paddlers Meeting

08/26/2008 - 7:00pm
08/26/2008 - 9:00pm

Everyone is invited to our regularly scheduled meeting on August 26th in the Luther Lee building at 1314 Lincoln St. Our featured speaker will be The Executive Director of the Congaree Land Trust, Billy Cate. He will be speaking about the Land Trust mission and their main focus, the Cowasee Basin Project. The Cowasee Basin is the area covered by the Congaree, Wateree and Santee rivers.

We'll also have reports from the Lake Murray/Big Creek, North Fork Edisto, Wateree River, and Lake Marion trips and Dennis Catoe's Broad River by dark trip. Rembert Milligan and Rock Garrick will have the details about the Adopt-a-Waterway clean up that the club is going to undertake. Mike Hollis will provide information about the rescue of two swimmers at the zoo last month. It will be a great time for everyone to get reacquainted after a long summer of paddling and hear about the important work the Congaree Land Trust is doing. For those interested we'll visit one of the restaurants in the Vista area for some fellowship following the meeting.
